South Australians urged to back local SA dairy products

South Australian consumers are being urged to support local food and dairy producers by choosing South Australian products at the checkout, as supply chains continue to face significant pressure.

South Australian Dairyfarmers’ Association President Rob Brokenshire said buying local was the most direct ways consumers could support farmers, processors and regional communities during a challenging period.

“We recognise the impact that the current situation is having on all parts of our supply chains and indeed all South Australians,” Mr Brokenshire said.

“Our farmers are working closely with processor partners to strive to maintain delivery of our premium South Australian dairy products to consumers.”

Mr Brokenshire said South Australia’s dairy farmers remained committed to producing fresh, high-quality products for local families, while helping underpin the state’s food security and regional economy.

“At a time like this, buying local matters,” he said. “When consumers choose South Australian dairy products, they are supporting local farm businesses, local jobs and the regional communities that stand behind them.”

“We encourage consumers to look for South Australian dairy products in store and, if it is not clear from the packaging, visit dodairy.com.au to see a range of our South Australian brands.”

Mr Brokenshire said supporting local producers helped keep value in the state and reinforced the resilience of South Australia’s food supply chain.

“South Australians have always shown strong support for local producers, and we encourage that support to continue,” he said. “Choosing local milk, cheese, yoghurt and other dairy products is a simple but meaningful way to back the people who produce some of the state’s best food.”
